So I had a tattoo party Saturday, everything Came out Amazing but it started with a horrible tragedy.  Friends of mine lost their paid off home to a fire at.  The young couple lost a friend as well.  Our friends are also artists, they have literally lost EVERYTHING.  They have had a website made for them where you can post donations.  It goes straight to the family and I assure you in truest confidence this is No Scam.  Please donate even if it is just fifty cents.  They have a 2 1/2 y.o. baby boy who needs his world to operate right for him.  Please help them.

Perhaps more detail is in order...

Ok so I can understand the need to correct issues facing our country.  Unemployment peaking near 10% is ridiculous, credit market is stretched thin.  The Housing market sluggish, the trade market is abysmal in many industries (i.e. auto industry).  So whats the biggest issues relating and correlating all these problems?  Quite simply basic, the governing bodies have created enough red tape (regulation) for small business and other businesses to jump through that the basic operational qualities needed to prosper are greatly hindered and reduced.

This links them all together.  And coupled with taxation fixing to rise to unprecedented levels, people expect it to worsen.  NO TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION!  This is why tea party demonstrations have occurred and once the tax bill hits next January expect severe civil unrest.  Those that make six to nine digits will get hit less than those who are scraping by (by volume of cash availability), those that do not will be consolidating families into unlivable conditions, and just to survive.  We are majority of the populace and we will be forced to face some major issues we will not be able to avoid.

I have made my suggestions in prior journals check them out.  While I feel they may be limited utility they will start a trend that will alleviate a portion of these issues.  It is also clear that the auto industry is suffering largely from the credit market.  People may want a car, but financing is unavailable.  My friend went to tade in his older 2004 car for a new scion tc, nice car; but they went to 10 sub prime lenders all of which requested more money and lease changes in order to finance.  I finagled them into using a prime lender and they sweetened the deal to close it.  *Pat myself on the back*

Anyhow.  It is clear so many variables are playing hard to fix, because regulations do not allow flexibility.  Likewise i thought this monstrous bailout was going to fix it.  "oh its a slow process and will take time".  Yeah i can see that, but I should see some bloody results by now.  It passed three months or so ago, where's the payout to us as consumers and American citizens?  Where's the loosed credit market to buy a fricken car or finance a house?  Where's my tax money going when a company that's been bailed out thats going under?  Who the hell are these monkeys in DC that think they can give away other peoples money.

I VOTE FOR NO CONFIDENCE IN THE US GOVERNMENT AT THIS POINT>

R. Biggs

Naturally I don't have authority to conscribe these into actual actions, nor do I have that deep of knowledge to understand the entirety of the situation from my commoner stand point. But it sure as hell sounds better than bailing out a bunch of piss poor business people for their overall lack of oversight and committment to the American People and whats right. Lessons must be learned over regulation, it is better to have than to under regulate by many standards.

OUR GOVERNMENT

Sun Mar 8, 2009, 7:36 PM
Perhaps more detail is in order...

Perhaps I am just a common man with above common heart.  Perhaps my education has played my ears into hearing what is really going on, or maybe there's more.

Over 500 men and women varying in age from 45 - 80 unwaveringly pushed a bill that tripled the governments debt in just over two months in our new presidency.  That's right I said OUR PRESIDENCY.  We voted him in under pretenses that have largely become possible but lack a true luster to achieve "common ground for common man".

What the hell are you talking about? You say.  Well first let me tell you the bill was 787 BILLION when it passed and some odd dollars figure going down to pennies. To put it in perspective I make more than 40k a year with over time but let us use this figure "40k" as a prime example and correlate some information to it.

IF I was born today and made $40,000 USD per year for my entire life from birth to death 0-80, I would make $3.2 MILLION dollars.  If I was also a goon for the government and gave it to pay off the stimulus package that recently passed (787 one not the new one yet).  Effectively 245,936 people gave their lives to the government to pay off the stimulus or about .75% of the population give or take and a rounding up.  This also doesnt account for the average teenager starting work around 14 so let us do that over again.

80(life expectancy)- 14 (age of working) = 66 *$40,000.00 = $2.64 MILLION or about 298,107 people died devoting to paying off the stimulus.  But wait theres more!

The jobless rate where I am at is just over 10%!  Yay for 1 in ten people...(sarcasm).  So the figure about needs to be multiplied by ten (the jobless figure the labor department reports does not show people who have stopped looking for work) and the ten percent is closer to a real figure, but probably higher.  So lets use ten percent.

298,107 x 10 = 2,980,107 or about 1% of the population total.  So what does this mean?  The government and its ruling bodies pushed a "quiet bill" through congress and slapped us with the tab "killing" almost 2 million people in the process.  But given the circumstances this does not relate the actual taxation of averaging at 15% (currently) so the wages will reflect this and that is the real money paying off the debt so take the wages earned ($2.64 MILLION) multiply by .15

$2.64 MILLION x .15 = $396,000 in taxes paid to the government per person (lifetime).  Divide this by the stimulus expense 787 BILLION.
Then mulitply it by .10 (jobless currently).  Essentially 19 MILLION PEOPLE have been indentured to the governemnt for this bill alone.

Word.

Lessons

Perhaps more detail is in order...

Naturally most of us carry life in stride as a day to day dealing in which it appears to just slide into one after another paying heed only to those things that matter most and disregarding most all else (this is a presumption and generalization...work with me here.) So perhaps I may be the only one to see this but it is apparent that history is inevitably repeating itself.  Most of what I understand as the "great depression" was caused by an overall lack of regulation and protection for specific occurrences from recurring.  Spending was out of control at the time and the government failed to recognize the effects (out of ignorance or otherwise) what was going on.

While I am a business major in college it has taught me many fundamental basics about how to deal with specific financial, business and ethical dilemnas to which most of us nearly disregard or do not fully understand.  That being said here is the basics of taxation and spending (whether government or not).

Money in (taxes) = spendable income less expenses

Since the US is no longer on the M1 index, a currency index that places values on the currency and forces the governemnts to note how much currency is in circulation, we can inevitably print to our hearts content devaluing the dollar further.  Likewise spending can go out of control without a worry because you could just print more, right? No sir bad idea.  It is also important to note that interest rates for lending are the lowest they have ever been, even since great depression.  So what does this all mean?

We havent learned our lesson as a consumer society.  Thats right I said it, and I am as guilty as the rest of us here in the USA.  Did we really think that this process of chewing up resources for over 200 years wouldn't eventually come back to bite us?  Spend, spend, spend thats the answer!  No sir.

Taxing the hell out of us is next folks because we are actually a broke nation at the moment.  Listen to all the headlines, or has American Idol played your attention away from it?  Twenty seven states are slashing spending by almost 15%, because if they don't the basic function we have grown to love, electricity, water on tap, police, firefighters, will go away; and this is a real threat folks.  Seriously.

Taxing us is the answer right?!  Well yes and no.  What? You say.  Well taxing us would certainly bring home the bacon for the government, but leave us with empty pockets and an overall deeper shit hole for an economy.  So now what?  Well credit cards got us here in the first place.  Yeah I said it, the fricken companies reap benefits of billions of dollars per year and only have to report to the SEC on their growth factors.  With no benefit to us who could use the 25% interest as a tax break at the end of the year.  But hell no we pay them a money benefit that is just shy of hiway robbery.  Likewise forcing them to pay out the taxes on it makes them lower interest rates forcing them to issue more credit lines to make up the losses...and voila the creidt crunch is fixed.

Also many people were given credit who should not have qualified for it in the first place.  They went under bankruptcy and foreclosures and swamped up the housing mess in a short period (about 3.5 to five years).  So how do we fix that?  Hmmm well artificially inflated prices need an adjustment.  Well since we are giving away free value-less money lets use it respectively.  Appoint a special commision in housing authorities to slash prices by 15% accross the board on housing sales in the last three years.  Pay the companies back with "bailout money" adjust the interest with respect to the governments lending rates plus the "lender holding fee" and voila the housing crisis is fixed.  But who am I?

Naturally I don't have authority to conscribe these into actual actions, nor do I have that deep of knowledge to understand the entirety of the situation from my commoner stand point. But it sure as hell sounds better than bailing out a bunch of piss poor business people for their overall lack of oversight and committment to the American People and whats right. Family

Wed May 7, 2008, 10:42 PM
Not sure if this is a rant or not...

Well many of you may not know this, but I am a father of two wonderous children.  A soon-to-be three year old "fairy princess" as she has called herself and a 3 month-old baby boy.  My wife whom both of us are high school sweethearts, married on summer solstice 2001 after being together for almost three years.  We planned for our children and made a conscious effort *wink wink* to conceive them with the intentions of taking care and raising them.  this seems to be completely out of kilter with what is happening these days.  I am unsure how a family functions without these basic fundamental values.  "..marriage then comes baby in the baby carriage."  The song plays a valid point that marriage come first, why?  For stability and caring of the children it takes two dedicated parents (sexuality is disregarded in this opinion as well).  Why has the value of marriage deteriorated so badly?

I think that this is a prime reason we have high school shootings, because the parents were either not around (both parents work) or the teachers do not pay heed to notice dangerous activities such as bullying.  Either way two people need to know eachother real well before bringing in another relationship (baby), so they can work out interpersonal issues beforehand.  then when the comfort level of "knowing" has set in then a baby can come into the picture.

These poor girls in school getting into issues with pregnancy ruin their lives because of some pubescent horny Prick who can pay for the shoes he's wearing is by no means a value system to start a family.  Period.  But until it becomes a single parent working society again the value system that is in place has no standing.  Parent unite in teaching your children proper safe sex or abstinence.

Perhaps I am conservative in the family values department or am I imagining this?

Ideals and morality must be taught as a requirement not as a casual option or choice. Otherwise the future brings more forboding and lasting effects.

Financial crap...

Well my finances went to crap because of several factors.  Not to get into too much detail, or asking for pitty here, just ventilation due to high volume of crap.  Wife finally got her short-term disability check for maternity leave it was small.  Then I get my check that week the bossman didn't pay me for my time off as requested.  Life has been american express for a short period here.  I hate that interest rate crap, 18% apr daily periodic rape crap.  How the hell can they justify that interest rate?  Anyhow, working overtime this week to punch a hole in the debt bubble looming over my shoulder.  Thanks for listening and plug your nose.  The crap is high...

Well maybe we can find a million dollars somewhere, just to enjoy life.

Well he's home again...

Finally he's home again.  My newborn son has returned and apparently he just had a small fever and a viral infection that was snuffed out like a a boxing match between Sugar Ray Leonard and Pee Wee Herman.  Well anyhoo, the weekend excursion to  St. Pete burnt up a tank of gas now valued in my Chevy Cavalier at 35.00 which at the time American express paid for.  So eventually the 35.00 will be like 47.00 if i don't pay that soon...hmm pay check this week!

I think this Valentine's Day couldn't Suck More!

Well well start with the basics in personal info.  Short on cash because of being on maternity leave with my wife.  My wifes job hasn't delivered her short-term diability check for maternity leave.  We have direct deposit items that could clear making my bank account 'rubbery'.  So we stayed home and cooked a quaint meal for dinner then I went to work.

An hour later my wife calls, my two week old son has 102.4 temperature!  I call everyone I work with to come in NO ONE ANSWERS!  Its Valentine's day they are all out drinking or sleeping. So i call my boss at home, no answer.  I stayed at work for another half hour and left a trainee to do the work of two people while I ship my family to the hospital.  Then I went back to work.  45 minutes later I get another call from my wife at the hosptial, his temperature dropped, but they have no idea what is wrong with him after every culture and bloodwork is being done!  My wife calls me crying because the doctor is requesting a transfer to All Childrens Hospital.

So then I start the rounds of calls again, I finally get a call 30 minutes later from a lady that lives close by.  I left asap and headed back to the hospital his temperature dropped some more, but his spinal tap analysis came back with a higher white blood cell count.  They didn't seem too concerned, but they made note of it and we are still waiting on the 48 hours cultures to show anything, if anything at all.

So then I go with them up to the hospital in ST. Petersburg FL and on the way the sunshine skyway bridge has a toll (billy goat gruff crap) and I am right behind the transport vehicle.

"I need a dollar" the toll lady says.  "I don't have a dollar, I am with them," pointing innocuously at the ambulance fading in the distance.  Cars pile up behind waiting to get through, honking their horns while I search for all the dirty change I can find in my console.  "What do you have?" she said nicely.  "Well, 53 cents," at this point I am so embarrased about my financial situation I might as well be a ostrich with its head in a hole.

"Go ahead, I have you covered," she said.  "Thank you so much, you truly are a blessing."  On the way breaking the speed limit by twenty miles per hour or more, I finally catch up thinking about how I am going to get across the other direction later that day.

We make it there fine and my wife is still sitting on the comfy chair awaiting information and feeding him when she can.  I am at work because the paycheck is direly needed.  So much for a cupid arrow blessing this time around.

Yechh! What a day and weekend this will be.

The force of people...

While it is no question that Knowledge Arcana has been defunct, the question is still posed, why did he want it so bad?  He made numerous claims that artist credit wasn't happening, couldn't be all the reason.  I guess their may never be an answer to this.  Everyone has essentially pulled their work from the issue and he posted it for about two days or so, the numerous emails flying around has perpetuated the issues into ruin quickly.  Its unfortunate to have things go this way for a pristine effort from such a collected and talented group.  However the forces regather and we shall create the greatest online community magazine ever held in the digital hands of the wizards of the coast and gleemax community.

Onward and Upward!
